Very interesting post, i love it
It would be great if you posted your requirements for this project. They all look wonderful!
We studied drawing people first, proportions, and then talked about "dressing" them and period appropriate costumes. The card has transformed over the years. It's a mixed media piece. Students research their randomly drawn artist, make a self portrait, a reproduction of the artist's work and needed to include the name, dates they lived/live and include at least one interesting fact in a visual form. I've done this lesson in some form for over 20 years and just retired from teaching this year!
Nice!Cute ^ ^
Wow! What a great idea! I'll save this up for next year - watch out grade 6 2014!
What a great idea! Did the students do their research about the artist and their art inside the classroom or on their own time? I'd love to do this with my 6th grade students but their art classes are very limited in time, unfortunately. Thanks so much!
Do you have a rubric for this assignment? Thanks!
I retired 3 yrs ago so don't have anything anymore. I left most of my projects and materials in the art room. Sorry. Diane
