For this project, we made a one inch grid across our papers. After debating for a while on what I wanted to do I chose this card idea. I like mainly how it looks with the cards and the hand, and how the colors make it only slightly harder to see it than just plain solid all the way through.

tree

I chose to do a tree in the marsh,I used water colors and i thought it wasnt that hard but i had to take my time to let the colors dry.

I liked painting the map picture because i liked having all the colors and I like how it looks 3D from far away. This wasn't and very difficult project but it was really fun.

I'm in art 1. We did an altered book page and this is mine. It reads "Through worried lips she whispered stay." I used melted wax, I burnt the edges of the paper, used watercolors, and used magazine images. I liked this project cause we could use several different media and it ended up looking really cool all together.

I am in Studio Art, when I got back from being sick my friends where painting on canvas. I thought it was pretty cool so I wanted to do it. I like the outdoors so I chose a moose. It took about two weeks from start to finish. I like this project alot i had fun doing it and like the finish project. John.

This is my water color painting. I painted a woods, cabin, and river scene. I painted the water and sky a kind of bluish color. I painted everything else like a greenish brownish color. I enjoyed doing this project.

I enjoyed this project because I like to paint. I also liked this project because I feel its one of my best projects that we did in the second quarter. This painting was very simple but the colors I used made it very fun. The colors I chose were greens and yellows which are my favorite colors.

In this depth pop-out artwork, I didn't really know what to look for at first to find a picture with depth. I'm not at all an obsessive Twilighter? But it had depth and I had really little time on my hands.
I also didn't do too hot on it and only put 4 layers instead of five. That had an impact on my grade but I guess this art project was pretty interesting.  Sally F.
This is my picture of a mallard drake that I painted acyclic on the canvas. It was pretty easy painting the background except for the weeds, didn't no if I should have added more or not. Over all, I really liked how it came out. I didn't know it was gonna turn out as good as it did. It was fun to do just to see if it was gonna turn out right. Cody M

What I liked about this picture was all the colors. I like how the colors were all different and came together and made my picture look like a night scene in a desert. Korrie A

Map Painting

This project I enjoyed doing because the map painting has alot of my favorite colors.
I used rope to make the roads pop out and i took glue and paper towels to cover it. After that i painted it with three to five different colors. I would like to do this project again.

Michael H.- This picture was outlined by pencil, and colored in chalk. I did a fiery demon. His facial expression shows his rage, the fire shows toughness, and the horns growing around his body shows his deadliness. This picture was pretty difficult. Trying not to blend colors that WERE NOT meant to blend was tough. Other wise it was fine. I enjoyed doing this project.

I had this idea for a while in black and white and wanted to know what i would come up with when i added color, this is what happened.

Olyvia's Studio Art Painting

This was my first stretch canvas painting ever! I really enjoyed working with acrylic paint because you can cover up your mistakes. I was inspired to paint this from a photo I took of a friend in her prom dress. I didn't really know what to do for a background when I started, I wanted to do something challenging. I had never painted clouds before so I decided to start there. In the end I named the painting Lady of the Lake. Olyvia :)

This project is called " Mapping". You lay yarn on a cardboard sheet and glue paper over it. hen you paint it. When your finished it looks like a map. I liked doing this because it was something new and I enjoy painting. I also like abstract over realism because it looks more defined.

Antique Mapping

I chose to put this up on the blog because I love the idea of making something look older and blend in colors to make things more interesting <3. red ="3.">u<. I don't think mine looks much like a map like it was supposed to be, but I appreciated the abstract and was very excited to paint it, I would most definitely do it again ^-^!
We had to do an altered book page in art. So I choose a random book page and made a sentence out of the page. This is what it says "Shoot any bucks that jump before fifty yards."
Since it was about deer I choose to get a picture of a deer and draw the other half in. I liked this project a lot just because I like deer and I got a good grade on this. Ivan W

I loved doing this art project because I put alot of effort into doing it. Working with pastels is my favorite type of medium. I entered it because I think it is one of my best my peaces of work this quarter in school. Thanks and hope you like it.

This was a lamp shade from the sixties or seventies that I "updated." It was originally a tan color with fuzzy trim around the top where my black ribbon is now. I started off by painting the entire shade with white acrylic paint. I then tore the fuzzy trim off and spray painted the shade with pink and orange. I used black Sharpie markers to freehand the flower designs. I finished the piece by using a spray adhesive to attache the ribbon and hot glue to attache the bows on each side.

This is a canvas painting I did with acrylic paint. I got my picture idea from a wedding dress then a picture with a girl with a dress in a room with a tree. I liked this project, I got to pick my own piece. It was hard to put the blossoms on the tree at first but then it turned out fine.-Jalen

This is a canvas painting and I used acrylic paint. I got my inspiration from a picture I found. I changed some parts from the picture to my painting. I really liked doing this and I think it turned out good. Rachel

This is a canvas painting of burch trees. I used acrylic paint and sponged the ground of purples, greens, and blues. I think burch trees are very pretty and an glad with how the trees turned out.

(freshmen!)

This is a whistle that I made. My ideas changed quite often during this project. I am very proud of my whistle because when i got it back after it got fired, it looked totally different than it looked before it went in. I took a risk and put a lime green base color and put random brush strokes of different colors to represent the fur. The whistle noise is also very strong. we made to whistle by making a ball of clay and hollowing it out. Then we added the mouth piece and stuck a hole through that. We then adjusted it to make the whistling noise. I am very happy how my seal whistle turned out.

I am a Freshman at Denver. This is a map painting that I did. I really liked doing this because I like abstract painting a lot because there is nothing specific that you have to have when you are done. To create this painting I glued down some yarn, covered it with toilet paper, painted it with some latex paint, and then I painted it with four different acrylic paints. Sarah F.

Josie's Canvas Painting

The canvas painting was one of my favorite projects in painting class. I was glad i chose a sunset, i liked using the shadows to finish off the look of the picture. Overall I am happy with the way the painting turned out. -Josie W.

Brian's My Fair Vampire

My inspiration came from a magazine where it was a painting of a woman in a wedding dress but then I added the goth into the picture and turned her into a vampire. The vampire idea came from the movie "New Moon". I have learned a lot from this project including detail and blending paint. This was a fairly interesting project to do thus far.
