Nevelson Columns - 3-D Art

Modeled after the Artist Louise Nevelson, these columns of a variety of materials allow students to study positive and negative space. The goal is to look at the sculpture and not the individual item nailed on, to let the paint give it anonymity. The more you fill the space, the more interesting shapes that will start to arise.

Right: This was the first project that we did this year for 3-D art and I enjoyed putting this project together and seeing how it turned out in the end. - Kurt M.

Left: This is the first project of the year for 3D art and is one of my favorite projects I have done yet! I'm looking forward to the rest of the semester. - Trevor M.
